Pearls are formed by natural process that happens inside the oyster shells. When any dirt such as sands or granules are trapped in the internal tissues of the shells, a part of tissues frees a substance which fixes to the dirt in order to protect itself from the dirt. And then, the substance forms a hard and smooth stratum around the dirt. It happens from time to time so it forms pearls.
