Natural pearls are very rare in nature, as not all oysters necessarily produce pearls, and the creation of one pearl takes many time. On an average any oyster takes three to five years to produce a a pearl of the desired size. Though pearl diving has become an important marketable activity at the present time, tons of of oysters are killed just to obtain an unique pearl.
